I’m shooting a lot of stock photography lately. Mostly with people because is what I feel I do best. Its a way to keep the cameras warmed up and to develop new photographic techniques or test light schemes. It teaches you to work on a budget and to try to obtain the best possible results with the minimum resources.
It also helps you to meet people (models, makeup artists, location managers), it makes you discover new places and you can even make some good money too if you develop a good sense of what the market is looking for.
Every time we are not on an assignment I’m always trying to keep the people working at my studio busy shooting stock for the major stock and microstock photography portals. Our images can be found in Corbis, Masterfile,
This afternoon we shot a series of simple conceptual images. The eye in the center of the mosaic is one of them. Shot with a Canon 5D MKIII and a 100mm macro lens. One strobe 45 degrees on top/front of the subject.
Huge thanks to Luca for lending me his terrific blue eye.
